Finished the episode. To summarize it, it was actually decent mostly because of Striker. The animation was actually decent except in the first few minutes. Strikers new voice was only good when he strangles and stabs Stolas (yay). The B plot was okay I guess, I liked that Blitzo was continuing to be a good father. The fight scene with Millie, Moxxie, and Striker was really good actually. What I found funny was that near the end, Stolas end’s up going to the hospital and that scene was trying to make it seem that Stolas and Blitzo give a shit about each other and I’m not going to say why I didn’t like that because you all already know how I feel about it. Also, I hope I’m not hearing things, but Andrealphus was calling her attractive, my dear, and fiery vixen which gives me incest vibes and I hate it. I’m just so glad Striker wasn’t ruined. This episode’s actually the best one in S2.

It’s because she shows favoritism towards Stoliz and not an actual good gay couple like Fizzmodous.

I love how judging by the S2 animatic teaser, word gets out that Ozzie is a hypocrite and is dating Fizzarolli, yet Blitz and Stolas have gotten no consequences whatsoever for being outed as pairing either.

The show had treated Stolas being in a relationship with Blitz a big deal, saying there are rules to hell and that the Goetia family and Hell itself wouldn’t approve of a low class demon with a high ranking one, and yet when they do finally get outed in S1E7, it doesn’t go anywhere, and it hasn’t gone anywhere in season 2 either. They set up the idea that it would be bad if they were found out and yet…nothing has happened, Stolas has gotten no accountability from any higher authority in hell for his book deal OR for being with an Imp, and despite the fact that some like Striker KNOW Blitz is screwing a royal demon, nothing has changed. That’s why this show drives me nuts, it sets up rules but never follows through with them, like how divorce for Stolas was controversial to the Goetia family and then he’s just….easily able to get divorced with the snap of a finger, at this point, Stolas and Blitz being “controversial” was just done so Viv could have her fanfic forbidden love romance. Aside from local gossip, Blitz and Stolas haven’t gotten in any sort of trouble but Fizz and Ozzie do? What sense does that make? Stolas literally gets a bunch of photos and cameras surrounded by him when he’s rushed to the hospital, so why hasn’t word gotten out yet of his entanglement and his reputation being damaged like Ozzies?

Also funny how Viv said in a livestream that the Lust ring doesn’t really care about the rules and would be open to people who are asexual ect, and yet they care about Fizz being with Ozzie for plot I guess.

genuinely the only actually good m/m ship i can think of in all helluva boss is probably striker/blitz. its not like those two inventor sinners thatre just gay for the sake of a joke- they actually both act like masculine men that match each others strengths and balance out their weaknesses. and thats a rarity for a MAJORITY of the m/m ships in the hellaverse in general. but for some reason, viv was like "striker? a villain with good points about how fucked the class system is, who directly points out that the royal goetia stolas treats blitz like a plaything directly? no, we cant have that! quick! make striker unlikable with a giant statue with a huge cock that ill deny as being ooc because i dont know what subtlety or consistent characterization is and have blitz call him a supremacist!! On paper I agree that Blitzø/Striker is the best m/m that Helluva Boss has to offer, before Viv mutilated our cowboy for Stolitz as you said. Maybe if they managed to keep Norman Reedus around, the ship could’ve gotten more fodder and Striker wouldn’t be a joke.

I thought there was some potential to Blitzø/Fizz — even though I do acknowledge that the ship idea came about in a nauseating way, specifically bc Blitzø harboring a secret crush on his childhood best friend feels like the creators of HB can’t just let friendships exist, there’s always gotta be something romantic or sexual about it 🙄

BlitzFizz is still way better at the Childhood Love concept than Stolitz was tho 😒 (srsly I can’t get over how Viv decided that that was the direction HB was gonna go and still fucked up the execution?! Stolas and Blitzø don’t even have chemistry as childhood friends!!!)

A little sympathy for stoliz shippers today.

They’ve become a little, cornered. And denial is hitting them like a wall.

I sense a bit of a persecution complex…believing that “antis” are creating “completely untrue” allegations that the plotline was actually sexual assault and a romanticised depiction of an abusive relationship all along. So they block all of these people and call them “bigoted antis” since they can’t make actual points other than “well vivzie said it’s endgame so.” Or “your media literacy bad mine good” “just say you don’t like complex characters!!” “Stolas can change!” “Viv wouldn’t do that!”

One stolitz stan said antis and haters make all of this up “out of nowhere” all because they want to make vivzie, her show, and her fans all look bad. -> would love your opinion on this strange allegation. But to me it seems like a lot of guilt.

They say sinsmas is their last saving grace from a deep depression…so how are they gonna feel when stolas runs out of blitzs arms and says to Octavia “you have been the only good thing in my life” in front of him? Honestly, I don't think you're wrong. I think this is a big part of it, and that it's sad fandom culture has come to this.

Stolitz shippers (and all shippers), if you feel that canon is making a horrifying shitshow of your beloved comfort ship, you don't have to stop liking it and you don't have to try and rewrite reality either. It's okay to just rewrite the ship. That's the point of fandom.

Idk honestly, but I really wouldn't be shocked. I can easily see them getting salty because things aren't working like in their fanfics, which is very dumb. Although people not understanding that Viv isn't the only creator that ignores fans ideas is confusing to me. Like, I don't think they understand how insulting it is to give any creator a script, as if they don't know what they're doing or where they're going with their show. Frankly, I'd tell them off. It’s supposed to reference this scene and I HATE IT! It basically describes my feelings with HB now. It had potential, but it messed up with its writing and characters.

Even Cartoonshi is starting to realize HB’s heavy writing flaws, and this guy loves the show. VERY good video addressing everything, like the woobification of Stolas, character development being retconned or erased, how the season feels like fanfiction, Moxxie going through the same character arc, the status quo for every episode repeating, the character inconsistencies, how Viv should have let us get to know the main characters more before she dived into the emotional side, ect. I recommend a watch, it was also satisfying to see him call Vivzie and Adam out on their bullshit for their laughable tweets, and especially Viv’s venom responses to criticism. I think it’s also important how he states that Helluva is a character driven show and yet the show clearly cares more about certain characters than others. It makes me realize that the fans who argued with critics about this NOT being the “Blitz and Stolas show” looked like idiots in the end since Vivziepop herself admitted that yes….she in fact had planned the two to be the main focus. It really is satisfying to see that people are being more critical of the show and not afraid of Viv’s and the fandom’s rabid responses. Good soup. 👌
